Very Berry French Toast with Homemade Raspberry Syrup



Did you know you could make homemade raspberry syrup using a jar of raspberry preserves? If not, I am here to spill the tea on how to do it! You only need a little bit of water and a jar of Miss Lena’s Raspberry Preserves. It’s just that simple! I served my homemade syrup with some French Toast with mixed berries. It was AMAZING with the homemade raspberry syrup. The recipe for the French Toast is below.

Ingredients for French Toast


8 slices of Texas toast

4 eggs

1 1/2 cup of milk

1/4 cup of French vanilla coffee creamer

2 Tablespoons of cinnamon sugar

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1 teaspoon of nutmeg

Butter for griddle

Miss Lena’s Homemade Raspberry Syrup

Fresh Mixed Berries


Directions to Make the French Toast


In a medium bowl, add eggs, milk, coffee creamer, cinnamon sugar, vanilla and nutmeg and whisk until well combined.


In a medium to large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Dip Texas toast into milk and egg mixture until well coated. Fry slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side. Top with mixed berries and serve with homemade raspberry syrup. Ingredients to Make Homemade Syrup


1/4 cup of water

Directions to Make Homemade Syrup


In a small pot, heat water and raspberry preserves on the stove and cook for 5-7 minutes, whisking occasionally. Set aside to cool.


Using a strainer, strain the raspberry and water mixture into a measuring cup. Pour into syrup container. Store in fridge for up to a month.
