Hot Spinach and Crab Dip

  • 8 oz of whipped cream cheese

  • 1 cup of sour cream

  • 10 ounces of frozen chopped spinach, well drained

  • 1 teaspoon of minced garlic

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

  • 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 dashes of Old Bay Hot Sauce

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 1/2 cups of Italian style cheese

  • Shredded medium cheese for topping

  • 8oz of lump crab meat

  • Crostini or pita chips for dipping

  • cooking spray


1. Thaw a bag of frozen chopped spinach and drain all the water from the spinach with paper towels.


2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a small baking dish with cooking spray.


3. Place the whipped cream cheese, sour cream, chopped spinach, garlic, salt, pepper, old bay hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and mix until well combined. Then add parmesan cheese and 1 cup of the Italian cheese to the spinach mixture and combine . Fold in lump crab meat.


4. Spread the spinach and crab mixture into the prepared dish. Top with a mixture of the remaining Italian cheese and some medium cheddar cheese. Sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning and bake on 375 for 25 mins. If you want your cheese to be more brown, place until broiler on low for a few minutes. Serve with crostini or pita chips.
