Pineapple Shaped Cheeseball

If you go to a true Southerners house for a party, you will likely see a cheeseball on the appetizer table. I created this pineapple shaped cheese ball for my daughters 4th birthday party. Her birthday party theme was flamingos and pineapples so I thought a pineapple shaped cheeseball would be perfect for the occasion. As a mom, I know what it like to attend a child’s birthday party so I wanted to offer the parents some other options than than pizza and chips. The cheeseball was a hit and so easy to make! I made it the night before and added the pecans the day of the party. I didn’t want them to get soggy. Let me know if you add this cheeseball to your next party. Spill the tea and let me know how it turns out! I also have a football shaped cheeseball recipe on my blog. Instead of shaping the ball into a pineapple, shape into a football and cover with mini pepperoni. The recipe is on my blog www.spillingthesweettea.com under the “Appetizers” section. It’s great party food for a Super Bowl Party!

8 ounces whipped cream cheese 3 cups of shredded white sharp cheddar cheese 1 teaspoon of garlic powder 3 teaspoons of worcestershire sauce 4 green onions, sliced 1 jalapeño finely chopped A few dashes of hot sauce  1 bag of whole pecans A top of a pineapple 1. Beat soften cream cheese until smooth.  2. Add the cheddar cheese and mix until just combined.  3. Add the garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, green onions, jalapeños and hot sauce. Mix until well combined. 4. Place cheese mixture onto a large sheet of plastic wrap and form into a ball. Wrap cheese ball in plastic wrap and chill for at least one hour or overnight for best results.  5. Once chilled, place the cheeseball on your serving tray.  6. Using the Saran Wrap, mold the cheeseball into the shape of a pineapple. Use picture for guidance. 7. Cover with whole pecans to mimic the outside of a pineapple and place the top of pineapple in place to complete the look.

8. Add crackers around your cheeseball and enjoy!
