I grew up in North Carolina and in the grocery stores at home I can easily find some of my favorite produce like fresh okra, butter beans, mustard greens, green tomatoes and the list goes on. I currently live in Maryland and it can be hard to find some of my favorite veggies in the grocery stores here so I turn to my local farmers market. I love shopping at farmer's markets not just for the fresh produce but also for the opportunity to support to a small business. If you are looking for helpful tips when shopping at a Farmer's Market, check this great article from the Spruce Eats.
On my recent trip to my local farmer's market, I was able to find some great produce but also picked up some pickled okra, peach pancake syrup and a bottle of Mike's Hot Honey I love products that provide that perfect combination of sweet heat. This honey is infused with chili peppers and is AH-MAZING drizzled on fried chicken wings. You can certainly kick up the spice in this recipe if you like a lot of spice in your fried chicken. You will only need to add more cayenne pepper to this recipe. These wings are a great snack idea for football Sunday! You could also use bigger pieces of chicken and have this as your main course for Sunday dinner. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
